Dr. Timothy Howes, Ph.D., co-inventor of LDAP and numerous patents, leads innovation on ClearStory’s Spark-based data analysis platform. A respected entrepreneur and computer scientist, he was a co-founder of Loudcloud/Opsware and Rockmelt and previously served as VP of Engineering at Yahoo and CTO of HP Software and Netscape’s Server Products Division. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, a Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computer Science, all from the University of Michigan.
Ali has more than 20 years of experience leading enterprise product development. Most recently co-founded and served as CPO and VP of Analytics at Model N, a leading provider of revenue management solutions that went public in 2013. He was a product and program manager at NetDynamics, acquired by Sun Microsystems, which pioneered the first Java-based application server. Ali earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Northwestern University, and his graduate degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
As Chief Application Architect, Jonas leads technology innovation, the application product direction, and how ClearStory’s unique Spark-based capabilities is instrumented into the user application. He is a 20-year veteran within the BI sector with more than 30 years of experience in senior technical, architect and management roles in the software industry. Jonas was a co-founder of Spotfire, where he headed the engineering team in the early years and was deeply involved in all aspects of the architecture of the Spotfire BI stack. He later served as Spotfire’s principal architect at TIBCO Software. Most recently Jonas was at Oracle, and served as the lead architect for Oracle’s cloud-based BI product, which is now central to Oracle’s BI stack. He holds a Master of Science degree and a MBA from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Azeem leads the engineering team at ClearStory Data together with ClearStory’s CTO. He has more than 18 years of experience in senior technical roles at Twitter, Oracle, Pervasive Software, Sun Microsystems and AMD. He most recently led the Twitter engineering team responsible for the development of the Twitter’s OpenJDK. Previously Azeem managed the whole JIT software development at Oracle and was also a past contributor to the Java HotSpot Just-in-Time (JIT) compiler at Sun Microsystems and AMD. He holds patents for code generation, virtualization and GPU acceleration. Azeem holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from California Polytechnic, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from San Jose State University.
Nicolas leads technical sales and solutions at ClearStory Data and leads the team that front-ends all customer engagements and solutions. Prior to that, he worked in senior technical roles at IBM for more than 15 years – focused on software development, technical sales and customer success. As a member of IBM’s Information Management organization, Nicolas helped clients and partners leverage IBM’s Big Data Analytics portfolio, which included solutions built on open-source technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, and Cloud Foundry. He was a recipient of IBM’s Excellence and Eminence Award, and served as key technical evangelist for IBM’s Big Data Analytics awareness and adoption. He holds a Bachelor of Science in MIS and a Master of Science in Software Engineering from San Jose State University.
